Brothers and Sisters,

It is my great joy to be one of the first to welcome you to the Florida Christian College family! You are getting ready to undergo a dramatic transition and I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of it. I have no doubt that God has a plan for each and every one of you, and Florida Christian College is the perfect tool to help you find and follow your calling. This time of spiritual and intellectual growth is going to encourage you, stretch you, and challenge you. It will be fun, but it will also be difficult.

My name is Brad Warren and I am privileged to be the President of the Student Council for the 2012-2013 school year. The other officers are Council Vice President Kelsey Whitlow, Council Secretary Kate Bowers, and Council Treasurer Tyler Olender. Our role this school year is to make sure that Florida Christian College provides an atmosphere that is a catalyst for your individual spiritual growth and the unity of the student body. Student council will host many events to this end. One of your first days on campus we will be providing what every college kid really wants… free food! The Student Council Cookout is on Thursday, August 23rd at 4:00 PM and I am eager to see you there! Also, almost every Thursday Student Council will host Coffee Shop, which is a venue where students can fellowship and be encouraged through worship and biblical teaching by your peers. Many current and former students have acknowledged the impact of these events on their time at Florida Christian College and we hope that you will come be a part of them!

If you take anything from this letter, let it be this: we are here to serve you! If there is something about the school that concerns you, we are here to give you the proper steps to take action. If you want to see an event take place to help edify or unify the student body, we can help you make it happen. We want your Florida Christian College experience to be as excellent as possible, so please recognize that we are in the positions that we are in because we want to serve you!

Many people – myself included – have been praying for you as you begin your journey here at Florida Christian College. I pray that you are strengthened, stretched, encouraged, challenged, and edified in your time here. I know that God has a specific plan for you, and I look forward to walking beside you as you discover that plan! See you soon!
