LEAD LogoOne of the most important decisions in your life will be to decide where you will further your education. Since 1999 the LEAD Adult Degree Program at Florida Christian College has devoted itself to helping students become who God created them to be. This program is a great way to complete your degree, "one night a week, one course at a time." Our Bible courses are designed to equip a preacher or minister for service in the church. In addition, the leadership courses are more than ample to encourage entrepreneurship or leaders within any organization. We offer on-campus and on-line courses for your convenience. Click here to find out more or to apply today!

Please contact the individual church for any further information about the position listed. If you are aware of listings that have been filled, please contact FCC so we can keep the list current.

You may call Alan Tison at (407) 569-1388 or him to give details.

Openings are listed by Ministry with Miscellaneous at the end. Churches out of the State of Florida that have requested we post their information are listed below the Florida openings.

Because the churches that support the ministry of the college are associated with the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ commonly known as the Restoration Movement and because other movements have similar means by which they publicize their open ministries, it is our practice to post ministry openings from within the Christian Church/Church of Christ.

    Cartersville, GA 3/27/13

    SoulHaven

    324 West Cherokee Ave.

    Cartersville, GA 30120

    Seeking:  Lead Servant of Worship/Arts

SoulHaven is a “missional” church plant. If you don’t know what that is, stop reading and search elsewhere. All staff members of SoulHaven are, and always will be, bi-vocational in order to stay connected to our community and free up more money to give to those in need. Your main task at SoulHaven will be the same as all staff – to make disciples who make disciples. Your secondary task will be leading the worship area, finding artistic ways to express our worship to God for the work he is doing through us as a missional community. As a church planter and missionary to your community, you are on the growing edge of the Kingdom of God. The spiritual warfare is real, so your faith better be real. This position is not for the faint of heart, so please don’t apply if you’re looking for a nice comfortable place to conduct worship services that Christians like to attend.

If you haven’t been scared off yet and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty in the messy business of making disciples, here are more details about the SoulHaven community:

    Mission

A community of people on mission for God to love and serve our city to Jesus.

    Core Values

Life on Mission - Every Christ follower is a missionary. Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” (Jn. 20:21) We believe that every Christ follower should be a missionary to those they come in contact with in their own personal context – work, school, neighborhood, family, leisure time, etc. Our measure of success is not just how many people come in but how many we send out.

Life in Community - Every community is on mission. We call our mid-sized groups Missional Communities because we gather together with a common purpose, which is to be on mission for God to a specific people group/geographic area/affinity with the purpose of loving and serving them to a faith in Jesus. We use the early Church in the book of Acts as our example of a community of believers that grew daily because of their faithful witness of love and sacrifice (Acts 2:42-47).

Life on Life – We expect everyone to be reproducing at all levels – churches, services, Missional Communities, leaders, artists, apprentices, and most importantly, making disciples who make disciples. We take the Great Commission seriously and believe it was given to every Christ follower (Matt. 28:18-20).

Giving – We will give away to others as much as we keep for ourselves. This plays out in many different ways in the life of our church as well as our individual lives. This principle is reflected in our church’s commitment to always give away at least 50% of our church’s budget to others through missions, outreach, service, benevolence, etc. This is also reflected in the rhythm of our Missional Communities where we take two weeks a month for ourselves in study and give away two weeks a month in service and celebration. And finally, this is reflected in various individual priorities like sharing meals with others as much as we eat out as individuals/families for example. We see this principle taught and modeled by Jesus in many different places (Lk. 6:27-36, Acts 20:35, Lk. 10:25-37).

Listening – We will regularly take time to listen to God (In personal devotion time, along the way each day, as Missional Communities, as leaders, etc.) and faithfully respond to his leading by the power of the Holy Spirit and the help of our SoulHaven family. (Ps. 46:10, Jn. 10:1-5, James 2:14-17).

Loving – We will always be a church that reflects Jesus’ heart of mercy and compassion for the hurting, the broken, and the poor in spirit. Knowing we will always have the poor with us, we have a goal to partner with churches, non-profits, and government agencies to put an end to poverty in the Cartersville area as best we can. (Matt. 25:31-46, Isa. 58:6-12, James 1:27, Micah 6:8, Deut. 15:7-11).

SoulHaven’s core group of about 30 people began meeting on Jan. 13th, 2013 and we plan on learning to live a missional lifestyle together and multiplying missional communities until we have the need to pull them back together weekly for a corporate worship service. If the mission of SoulHaven excites you and you have the gifting and passion to lead and equip others in the area of worship/arts, please visit our facebook page and learn more about who we are and what we’re doing. If, after considerable time in prayer, you feel that God is calling you to explore this option further, please send a resume, along with any sample DVD’s or links you have, to soulhavenchurch@gmail.com . About Jonesboro Christian Church

We are about 20 minutes south of Atlanta, and we average 250 per Sunday. Our 10 year old building recently received a complete interior face lift, and we are debt free. In addition to our regular offerings, we average $100,000.00 for missions annually. Our current staff includes a senior minister, children's minister and a student minister.

Musically over the last 15 - 20 years, we have moved from all hymns sung from the book; to doing 50% "older contemporary" songs, with 25% hymns, and 25% of somewhat newer contemporary songs. It is our goal to continue moving forward with an experienced worship leader who has a love for God, and a heart for people.
