Groveland, FL  10/22/09

South Lake Christian Church

P.O. Box 157

Groveland, FL  34736

Seeking:  Senior Minister

We are an independent Bible based church. As such, we take a strong stand on the inspiration, and authority of the Bible and the autonomy of the local church. The mission of Christ is also the mission of His Church, and while the mission is singular and unchanging, the methods by which it is accomplished can vary and are constantly changing.

Located in the heart of central Florida in a rural farm setting, SLCC is situated between several small cities and towns, and approximately 45 miles from the city of Orlando. We are a church of 100+ members in an area where new communities are springing up that will offer an excellent opportunity for growth in the coming years.

Our purpose is to encourage individuals to be saved, to incorporate them into the church, train them in holy living, and to provide them with the opportunities to use their God given gifts in order that the church of Christ might grow in numbers.

We celebrate Christ's presence as we worship Him in spirit and in truth in regular assemblies through song, prayer, giving, preaching and communion.  Our regular Sunday worship currently includes a traditional music service, followed by Sunday school and Bible study and then a contemporary music worship service.

We strive to incorporate Christ's followers into the church through fellowship activities, such as a special dinner each Wednesday evening, followed by singing and Bible study. there are regular activities and special meetings for the youth, and a monthly dinner and fellowship for the seniors. Several times each year, there are picnics and fun days for church members, friends and the local community. Often our members hold a special training program at their homes to deal with current issues, such as marriage, prayer needs, and Bible study.

Where do we go from here? SLCC is a relatively young church 18 years old, with a basic church building at this time. There is enough property for the expansion of the facilities, and we are currently at the beginning of an expansion plan with the construction of an activities building. This will provide for more fellowship activities, more classroom space and expanded parking.

We are excited about the future and the growing opportunities to spread God's word and salvation through Christ.

Louisville, KY  10/20/09

Northeast Christian Church

9900 Brownsboro Road

Louisville, KY  40241

Seeking:  Children's Minister

We are looking for a new children's minister to oversee all aspects of our birth through 5th grade programs.  This is a full-time position responsible for organizing, training and leading a paid staff team of 4 and over 200 volunteers.  This individual would have involvement with multiple age groups, but the focus would be on elementary (K-5th) ministry.  Our desire is to have someone who embodies the 5 C's...

  • Character-They are conscience of their calling to live above reproach in both their professional and private roles, yet are also real and authentic with their struggles and shortcomings.
  • Creativity-They are capable of creating an awesome culturally relevant program within the constraints of certain tangibles (budgets, space, volunteers, etc.).  They are constantly reevaluating processes and models to become more efficient and serve our families better.
  • Connection-They can connect with kids, their parents and volunteers in their own unique ways.
  • Communication-They clearly communicate using numerous mediums to ensure information is getting to the needed recipients.
  • Chemistry-They're a good fit for our current team and church structure.  They are committed to helping us carry out our mission statement and assisting people towards becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Church Profile:

  • Northeast is a multi-generational, non-denominational Christian Church located very close to the border of Jefferson and Oldham counties.  NECC offers three identical weekend worship services with an average attendance of 2,700+.  Nearly 400 children of birth-5th grade are part of that average.  Northeast also has a 2nd campus located in the Clifton area, closer to downtown Louisville.  To access the many aspects of Northeast, log on the their website.  www.necchurch.org

Community Profile:   www.louisville.com

  • You've probably heard the most about two places:  freedom Hall and Churchill Downs.  "The Hall" is where the University of Louisville's men's basketball team is fast-breaking to national rankings under head coach Rick Pitino; "The Downs" is where the Kentucky Derby has been electrifying horse racing fans for 130 years.
  • But this community is renowned for much, much more, and you'll want to introduce yourself to those amenities.  Louisville is an arts town with resident theater, opera and ballet companies as well as an orchestra.  Actors Theatre of Louisville each March mounts a new-play festival that is known for launching works that later hit the stage in New York and other cities.  And the Speed Art Museum, thanks to some recent large endowment gifts, continues to build its collection and bring attention-grabbing exhibits to town.
  • You get the idea.  Though Louisville is now the 16th-largest U.S. city-thanks to 2007's city-county governmental merger that placed all of Jefferson County's nearly 7000,000 residents under one jurisdiction-it is in many ways still a small town.

Growth Projection:

  • Northeast is in the early stages of a 3-5 year building process that will maximize its primary campus on Brownsboro Road.  A large piece of this will be a total renovation of our current children's facilities, almost doubling the space and creating a kid friendly environment that resembles Disney World.  This project is set to begin January 2010 and should be completed by Christmas.  A new worship center will also be in construction at the same time with a target date of completion of Easter 2011.  We are expecting a growth surge in the next 18-24 months of 30-40%.

Education:

  • A bachelor's and/or master's degree in Children's Ministries and /or Family Ministries is highly desired.  A candidate with experience leading a team in mega church children's ministry is preferred; however, lack of experience is not a determining factor of qualification.

Starting Time:

  • This position is currently open and is ready to be immediately filled.

Seeking:  Full time Campus Minister

We are currently seeking a full time campus minister for the University of Wisconsin, Madison. UW Madison is a university of around 45,000 students, with over 20% of them being international students!  We have a campus house that is one block away from the football stadium and right next to Union South.  We are in the middle of a three year process of completely renovating our eight bedroom campus house.  Koinonia House has been instrumental in reaching many international students over the past several years.  Currently we have students living in the house from four different Asian countries!

WCCM began an outreach in Madison two years ago with one part-time staff.  We have developed good relationships with the area churches, and have established a fellowship of around 25 students.  We see God's hand in leading us to take the next step and hire a full-time campus minister.  This individual needs to have a heart for international student ministry, along with possessing the qualities of being a self-starter, is teachable, and doesn't mind the fact that we still have one more month of winter up here!!

If you are interested in the possibility of the position, please e-mail me at jrush@new.rr.com for a job description and for more information about us.

WCCM is a multi-campus outreach to the universities in Wisconsin, and would welcome more CM staff this way!
