Senior Minister
Job Description
Purpose:
The senior minister will
serve under the oversight of the eldership. The senior minister
will provide support an supervision to the church staff. The senior
minister is to provide spiritual and pastoral leadership to the
members of Washington Shores Church of Christ.
The position will require
the minister to maintain regular office hours and working evening
and weekends as required.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. After coordinating
and communicating with the elders, carry out biblically based
vision to the congregation.
2. Provide pastoral
leadership, preach, teach, visit the sick, officiates funerals,
weddings, special events, and provide counseling.
3. Plan and lead
worship in conjunction with Worship Minister.
4. Sufficient
amount of time should be set aside for accessibility to members
of congregation (via appointments), church staff, and church activities.
5. Provide updates/status
on members, events, programs to elders and during board meetings.
6. Provide leadership
on implementing community outreach programs and evangelism.
7. Conduct Bible
studies during Wednesday afternoons/evenings and small groups
as required.
8. Provide supervision
and support to church staff. Maintain a active calendar through
support of the church secretary. Participate in screening of hiring.
Make recommendations on hiring, separation o staffing under the
oversight of the elders.
9. Promote, educate,
and advocate responsibilities of biblical stewardship in the congregation.
10. Encourage
all organizations and ministries of the church to carry out their
work with emphasis on welcoming others to participate in the mission
work of Christ.
Non-Essential
Responsibilities:
1. Attend development
conferences as required and approved by eldership.
2. Represent WSCC
at governmental functions as required and approved by eldership.
3. Attend local
school functions as required.
4. Develop relationship
with sister congregations within the Orlando area.
Position Requirements:
1. Completed Bachelors
from seminary or Bible College or 7 years equivalent experience.
2. 7-10 years
minimum professional ministry experience as a Senior Minister,
Associate Minister or equivalent position.
3. Meet the Biblical
requirements for office (1 Tim 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4,
Acts 6:4)
4. Proof of a
clear testimony of personal salvation, baptism, and a commitment
to Jesus Christ.
5. Experience
in leadership and management in ministry.
6. Demonstrate
strong interpersonal skills, passion for pastoral care, and effectiveness
of personal evangelism.
7. Regular office
hours 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with evenings, weekends, and holidays

days of expiration date on license
- Be aware of changes in legislation and/or other requirements concerning
licensing of foster families
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited
college or university with a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Psychology,
Social Work, Health Education, or other Human Services field; and
a minimum of 3 years experience working with children with emotional
disturbances and/or at-risk children. DCF experience preferred in
Protective Supervision and/or Foster Care. Completion of DCF/PDC/Case
Management may be required. Must demonstrate proficiency in verbal
and written skills. Must maintain current certifications determined
by program. Must successfully complete a criminal background screening
and drug screening.

tech industry and many colleges and universities. The Norwin School
district serves both communities and has an attendance of 5,000 students.
NCC also draws members from the surrounding communities and students
from about six other neighboring school districts. The area provides
great opportunity to reach large numbers of people to share the love
of Christ.
MINISTRY OVERVIEW:
The Youth Minister at Norwin
Christian Church will provide leadership in all areas of children's
ministries including elementary, junior and senior high with a goal
of the development of a Christ-like character in all our youth and
youth leaders and to enhance our outreach into the community so that
others will come to know Christ The applicant will be a team player
who is able to work with and take direction and instruction from other
members of the staff, the board, and the elders.
A 4-year degree from a Christian
College and previous experience with counseling youth and interacting
with their families is preferred, but other relevant experience and

RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Development, Implementation,
and Coordination of all Youth Ministries and Programs for Junior and
