South Lake Christian
Church
P.O. Box 157
Groveland, FL 34736
Seeking:
Senior Minister
We are an independent
Bible based church. As such, we take a strong stand on the inspiration,
and authority of the Bible and the autonomy of the local church.
The mission of Christ is also the mission of His Church, and while
the mission is singular and unchanging, the methods by which it
is accomplished can vary and are constantly changing.
Located in the heart of
central Florida in a rural farm setting, SLCC is situated between
several small cities and towns, and approximately 45 miles from
the city of Orlando. We are a church of 100+ members in an area
where new communities are springing up that will offer an excellent
opportunity for growth in the coming years.
Our purpose is to encourage
individuals to be saved, to incorporate them into the church, train
them in holy living, and to provide them with the opportunities
to use their God given gifts in order that the church of Christ
might grow in numbers.
We celebrate Christ's
presence as we worship Him in spirit and in truth in regular assemblies
through song, prayer, giving, preaching and communion. Our
regular Sunday worship currently includes a traditional music service,
followed by Sunday school and Bible study and then a contemporary
music worship service.
We strive to incorporate
Christ's followers into the church through fellowship activities,
such as a special dinner each Wednesday evening, followed by singing
and Bible study. there are regular activities and special meetings
for the youth, and a monthly dinner and fellowship for the seniors.
Several times each year, there are picnics and fun days for church
members, friends and the local community. Often our members hold
a special training program at their homes to deal with current issues,
such as marriage, prayer needs, and Bible study.
Where do we go from here?
SLCC is a relatively young church 18 years old, with a basic church
building at this time. There is enough property for the expansion
of the facilities, and we are currently at the beginning of an expansion
plan with the construction of an activities building. This will
provide for more fellowship activities, more classroom space and
expanded parking.
We are excited about the
future and the growing opportunities to spread God's word and salvation
through Christ.
