New Creation

What is New Creation?
New Creation MMU 122, a one-credit ministry elective course, is an auditioned group selected for the purpose of representing the College in public relations and recruiting program and to fulfill an ensemble requirement for music specialization students. Auditions for this group are conducted with a view to discovering students who excel in vocal ability, who may also excel on an instrument, and who possess a well-rounded Christian personality to serve as ambassadors for Christ and the College. New Creation members must maintain a 2.0 GPA by the end of the fall semester in order to be included in the spring New Creation Tour. New Creation members must also maintain a high standard of character and integrity to be allowed to join the tour. Recommendations from faculty and staff are collected prior to the tour.

How do I join New Creation?
New students interested in becoming members of New Creation for the 2013-2014 will audition on August 21, 2013, Wednesday, in BR-2 of the Music Wing. The audition will follow the following process:

1.  All upperclassmen students who have previously joined New Creation and all current FCC students interested to join will audition from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

All freshmen and transfer students this fall will audition from 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

2 .  Applicants must complete and submit an application form prior to the audition.  Please fill out the online application form to schedule your audition.

3.  Applicants must be prepared to sing a selected performance song from memory, with a recorded accompaniment or by an accompanist brought in by the applicant (do not sing worship songs). The audition will also include a vocalization exercise to determine the voice parts.

4 .  Audition will include a brief interview.

5 . You will be notified via email of the results of the audition by August 24, 2013.

First year New Creation members must participate in the College Choir in the fall and spring semesters. You are also expected to participate in all choral performances. If you are taking College Choir for credit, no additional fees or choral dues will apply. If you are not taking College Choir or New Creation for credit, you must pay the student choral due.

Second year New Creation members are required to sing a third semester in College Choir and all its choral performances.

New Creation meets on Thursdays from 11:00 – 12:50 pm in BR-2. Classes/rehearsals begin August 29.
