MISSION
The
Florida Christian College Lady Suns Volleyball program exists
for one ultimate purpose: to glorify God by offering back
the best of what he has given to us. It's the idea of giving
our firstfruits—the absolute best that we have to give.
We expect a high level of competition every time we step
on the court, whether it's a championship match, a regional
match, or practice. We strive to everyday offer ourselves
physically, mentally, and emotionally. And we strive to
do this in every area of our lives. Our mission is to help
our players develop a passion for God through a Christ-centered
educational experience. Our achievement on the court is
an outpouring of what God is doing in each of us.
We
also want our team to be a family. A team in which each
player is fully invested in the lives of her teammates.
A team that fully supports each other, fights for each other,
enjoys each other, and prays for each other. We realize
that each player brings a unique set of tools, and that
only by a full commitment to each other are our strengths
fully realized, and our weaknesses covered. It is our mission
to help all of our players become women of God and of character,
who will go out and impact the world mightily for Christ.
OUR 2011 TEAM VERSE
1 Corinthians 9:25-27. “Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.” This year, our team will strive to do all things with focus, discipline, and honor to allow others to see that we serve a mighty God and that we are His.
