Suns Begin 2012 Campaign
With Annual Retreat

8/25/12 - KISSIMMEE. The 2012 Lady Suns started off their 2012 campaign with the annual team retreat. This season, the team spent a long weekend near St. Pete Beach getting to know each other, spending some time relaxing at the beach, kayaking, sleeping in, and doing various team building activities. During the pre-season, the Suns spent additional time practicing their 2012 team focus: "Service- Serving God, Serving each other”. Using Matthew 20:27-28 as our anchor point- “…Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave, just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many…”, the team spent time working at the Heritage Christian School volleyball tournament and also sorted clothes for distribution to Haiti at a local food and clothing bank Open Hands. The players also shared a couple evenings together with the new FCC Women’s Soccer team at a game night and also doing a on-campus scavenger hunt. Just prior to the season, the Suns were able to spend some time practicing their “markswomanship” at an area range with Professor Howard at the Orlando Shooter’s Gallery. As we head into the season, the team is looking forward hitting the bull’s-eye in Glorifying God in all they say and do. Let’s Go Suns!
