3.26.2009 Suns Sign Two Recruits

On March 26, 2009 Coach Becca Reed welcomed the two newest members of the 2009 Lady Suns, Rebekah Maynard and Stacie Hubert, both of Titusville, Florida. The Temple Christian School teammates will continue their careers together at Florida Christian College, bringing an established chemistry to the program.

Maynard is a 5'6” Outside Hitter who led her team in both kills and digs during her Junior and Senior years, along with earning All-Conference and Most Valuable Player honors both years. Hubert finished her senior season as a first year setter, recording an impressive 206 assists throughout the year. She will join the Lady Suns as Defensive Specialist, providing a spark to the backcourt.

Coach Reed lauded both Maynard and Hubert saying they “are a perfect fit for where the program is going, both in their playing ability, and in the heart they bring. Rebekah is fundamentally solid in almost every area and brings a quiet determination to every play. Stacie will bring great energy defensively and the kind of heart that works hard on every play.”
