The Lady Suns 2010 Recruiting Class Adds Another

New Head Volleyball Coach Jim Butski signed another Florida recruit on Tuesday May 25th.  The Master's Academy of Vero Beach senior captain Jillian Martinelli becomes the latest member of the 2010 recruiting class for the Lady Suns.  The daughter of John and Anne Martinelli was the captain of both her high school and club team (FAVA) this past season and is the first student athlete from the Master's Academy to play collegiately in any sport.  A multi-sport athlete (softball and beach volleyball), 5'8" Jillian brings great athleticism and drive to the the Lady Suns.  Coach Butski had not originally planned to watch her play at a recent tournament, but rather intended to meet with the team's coach- Saundra Maher.  "When I was watching the team play, Jillian really stood out. Before I knew it, we were talking about the possibilities of her playing at FCC- the rest, as they say, is history. Jillian comes from a great family, has a very high athletic potential, and a true heart for ministry outreach- we are very blessed to have her join the team."

Jillian will join previous signees Shelby Buchanan from Aleto Christian HS (Texas), Tina Westendorp from Maple Valley HS (Michigan), Charlotte Worsfold of Broadfording Christian Academy (Maryland), and Florida native Ashley Griswold from Eustis HS in the 2010 recruiting class.

Florida Christian is coming off an 8-22 season and competes in the southern region of the National Christian Conference Athletic Association. They will host the NCCAA National Tournament in Kissimmee this fall and as hosts will receive an automatic bid to the tournament.
