4.28.2009 Women's Volleyball Signs All-Conference Teammates

Coach Reed continued the assembling of a large recruitment class on April 28, 2009 when she signed 5'11” Middle Blocker Renee Westberry, and 5'5” Setter Lindsey Kurtz, both of Interlachen High School. Renee, an All-County Middle Blocker, led her team in both blocks and digs her senior year. She also led the area in blocks her senior year. “She will immediately strengthen our front line, and has the potential become a very strong player in our Region,” said Coach Reed.

Lindsey was the Putnam County 2008 Player of the Year and finished a stellar high school career as the area career record holder in Assists, Service Points, and Aces. “Lindsey is a great leader and a great competitor,” said Coach Reed. “She is a solid all-around player and will strengthen this team in several different areas.”

Both Westberry and Kurtz are stellar students as well, with both boasting better than a 4.0GPA, inductions into the National Honor Society, and winning the Rotary Club Merit Award, among others. “These girls are exactly what we are looking for in our student-athletes,” coach Reed said. “They bring a great work ethic and discipline in the classroom as well as on the court, and they both desire to serve God with their lives. They will greatly add to our program.”
