MISSION
The Suns Cross Country program is more than running long distance. It is also about running the course that God has set before us. Through training, discipline, and focus, runners prepare themselves to run the race of life. In cross country as well as in your spiritual journey, you know that when you fall, you get back up and keep running; when you grow weary, a fellow runner runs alongside you and encourages you to pick up the pace; and if you get distracted, you remember to keep your eyes on the finish line. For as the writer of Hebrews says, “let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
We will compete in Division II of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). While a member of the NCCAA, we will also compete locally against both NCAA & NAIA colleges and universities. We are looking for men and women who not only have a heart for distance running but who also have a passion to be servant leaders for Christ. Our team will be involved in a number of service projects throughout the year ranging from volunteering and running our own 5K here at the college, or feeding the homeless of Osceola County.
The FCC Suns run to win the prize – in competition and in life. And what is the prize in life? It is becoming all that God has called us to be in Christ Jesus. So, forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, we run toward the goal. We run with perseverance, encouraging one another, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. –Coach Bordelon
