Suns Show Tremendous Improvement
at the
Jim Ryun Invitational
9/14/12 – Jim Ryun Invitational. The Florida Christian College Men’s Cross Country team showed tremendous improvement in their second competition of the season at the Jim Ryun Invitational (Lakeland, Florida) running against the University of Tampa, Florida Southern College, Florida College, Warner University, Rollins College, and Southeastern University. Overall the men’s team finished the meet in 7th place. The men were led by Austin Reid (20th place); Tyler Peterson (26th place); Danny McInroe (27th place); Ben Howard (31st place); and Ivan Laster (35th place). Also competing for the Suns were – Felix Acevedo (39th place); Christopher Dalisay (41st place), Warren Green (43rd place) and Jared Yoder (43rd place). A new school record for the men’s cross country program was established by Austin Reid (33:50 for the 8K/five miles). In reviewing the meet, Coach Bordelon pointed out that almost every one of the men who ran last week improved their average mile time between 15-45 seconds per mile. The Suns will compete again on Friday, September 28th at Titusville.
