Doug Johnson
Head Coach |
Doug Johnson grew up in Westminster, Maryland. Doug’s love and passion for the game of soccer developed at a young age and blossomed into an excellent high school career in Maryland. Beyond winning the MVP award and being named to the all-county team (on both offense and defense), Doug’s high school career earned him a scholarship to play in college at Ohio Valley University in Vienna, West Virginia. (NCAA DII). While at OVU, Doug was named as a Team Captain for the Fighting Scots soccer team while also spending time as an Assistant Coach as the program was in its early stages of development. Doug finished his degree at Lincoln Christian College, and spent the early part of his career working in different roles at a number of churches.
Doug joined the staff of FCC in 2011 as the inaugural Women’s Head Soccer Coach. Doug has a strong soccer background and a self-described passion for “seeing others excel in the game.” After a year and a half on staff, Doug accepted the responsibilities of Athletic Director along with his coaching responsibilities. We are excited to have Doug Johnson lead our Athletic Department into the future!
“It is a great opportunity to mentor young student-athletes who desire to use their talents to make an impact for Christ! I look forward to seeing an imprint of Christ left on the court, field, pitch, or course of our athletic programs.”
“When Coach Johnson is not out on the pitch or in the office, he likes to spend time with his wife (Danielle) and his two children (Aubrie and Lincoln).
