APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID

STEP ONE: COMPLETE A FAFSA

In order to receive Federal, State, or Institutional (Florida Christian College) aid, each student must first complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The easiest way to do this is to go to www.fafsa.ed.gov. You may complete and submit your FAFSA after January 1st of each year. In order to receive the maximum amount of aid that you are eligible for, you will need to submit your FAFSA by APRIL 15, 2012. This allows your application to be processed by the May 1 deadline. You will need a Personal Identification Number (PIN) in order to complete your FAFSA. You can receive your PIN by logging into www.pin.ed.gov. If you are a dependent student, your parents will need a PIN as well (available on the same website). You will also need income and tax information from the previous year, including your W-2 and tax documents along with your parents’ tax information. Be sure to list Florida Christian College in the school section and enter our school code (015192) in order to have your information sent to us.

STEP TWO: COMPLETE AN ONLINE FINANCIAL AID INTERVIEW

Once you have been accepted and have completed your FAFSA, log-in to our Virtual Financial Aid office at https://fcc.vfao.com to complete your online Financial Aid Interview. This quick and easy process helps us verify your information and allows us to help you proceed with requested loans, requested grants, or both. Please make sure to select all terms you plan to attend for the school year. The deadline to complete this step is April 15, 2012. *Please do not complete this step until you have been notified by the Admissions Office of your acceptance.*

STEP THREE: SIGN MASTER PROMISSORY NOTE (FOR LOANS)

If you are going to apply for loans, you will need to sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN). IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO FOR FLORIDA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE; if you already completed an MPN for Direct Loans please skip this step. This document is a contract between you and your lender detailing the various aspects of your loan, and your agreement to fulfill your payment plan. You can do this by going to www.studentloans.gov and signing in using your FAFSA PIN. The deadline to complete this step is May 15, 2012.

STEP FOUR: APPLY FOR SCHOLARHIPS
Now, you will want to explore any scholarships that you may be eligible for, including local and national scholarship opportunities. Your high school guidance counselor is a great place to start for this valuable information. To see what FCC scholarships and grants you may be eligible for, click here.
