·Federal Stafford Loan (for student)
·Subsidized = federal government pays interest while in school
and during 6-month grace period
·Unsubsidized = student pays interest while in school and during
6-month grace period
·Federal PLUS Loan (for parent)

General eligibility criteria for federal aid include:
·Be enrolled (or accepted) in a degree or certificate program
·Not simultaneously enrolled in elementary or secondary school
·Have a valid Social Security Number
·Have a high school diploma or its equivalent
·Be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident
·File a statement of educational purpose
·Register with Selective Service, if male
·Maintain satisfactory academic progress
·Not be in default or owe a repayment to a Title IV program
·Have observed loan limits
·Not have federal benefits suspended due to drug conviction
·Not have property subject to judgment lien for a debt owed to
U.S. government
·Meet other program-specific criteria
·Documentation of eligibility may be required.
