Welcome to InternNet!

This website has been created for FCC students preparing for, engaged in and returning from a ministry or counseling internship. You will find here everything you need to understand and particpate in the internship process. That includes all essential documents and links to online and printed forms.

Let's begin with a quick overview of the whole experience. There are three parts. Parts 1A and 1B are courses taken during the junior year, and before the field experience occurs. Part 2 is the actual supervised field experience. It typically takes place in a 12- to 15-week period during the summer, between the junior and senior years (the "full-time" option). It may also occur during the fall and spring semesters of the senior year (the "part-time" option). Part 3 is a debriefing course completed during the first semester of the senior year. A detailed description of each part is available through the links in the left column. A total of nine (9) semester hours of credit is earned by successfully completing an internship:

Step Credit Hours Course Code* Course Title
  1A   1   MIN 391   Internship Part 1A
  1B   1   MIN 392   Internship Part 1B
  2   6   MIN 396   Internship Part 2: Field Experience
3   1   MIN 393   Internship Part 3: Completion and Debriefing

* MIN is the course code for ministry specializations internships other than counseling. Counseling internships ahve the same course numbers, but use the MCO code. Instead of registering for MIN 391, counseling specialization students would register for MCO 391. Also, the internship field experience typically takres place during summer break. When it is completed during the school year, students register for MIN 398 instead of MIN 396.

All students with ministry or counseling specializations are required to complete a ministry internship. The internship must be directly related to the student's degree specialization. The location and activities of each internship must be established by the student in conjunction with the Director of Internships, a faculty advisor and the onsite internship supervisor. Specific internship experiences, activities and outcomes are detailed in an internship contract.
