Wendy Guthrie was born in Eastern North Carolina and raised in Hampton Roads Virginia. Mrs. Guthrie graduated from Roanoke Bible College (now Mid-Atlantic Christian University) in 1982 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Bible and a minor in Christian Education. She completed the necessary course work at Delaware State College and the University of Delaware to obtain a Delaware State Teaching License. In 1991 Mrs. Guthrie graduated from Old Dominion University with a Master’s of Science in Elementary Education. Mrs. Guthrie taught in public and private schools in Virginia and North Carolina for ten years and served as the Director for Children’s Ministries at Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, NC for one year. In 1998 Mrs. Guthrie returned to her alma mater where she taught for twelve years. In 2006 Mrs. Guthrie entered a doctoral program at Regent University and is in the process of completing her dissertation.
Mrs. Guthrie has also served with her husband, Forrest, in various ministries in VA, DE, and NC. The Guthries have two daughters, Callie and Mary Allen, who attend Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. When she is not teaching or working on her dissertation, Mrs. Guthrie enjoys gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.
