Associate Professor of Ministry

Roland Howard is associate Professor of ministry. He teaches preaching, inter and cross-cultural missions, church growth, and evangelism courses. Students are motivated by his enthusiastic love for the Lord and His Church.

Professor Howard was converted to Christ while an undergraduate student at NC State University. After working 9 years as an engineer with Newport News Shipbuilding, Roland and his family moved to Illinois and began located ministry. Professor Howard served as preaching minister at Central Christian Church of Pontiac, IL while completing his Master of Divinity degree from Lincoln Christian College and Seminary. He has served with North Point Community Christian Church in the Chicago area as Minister of Discipleship, Small groups, and Adult Education. Professor Howard joined the teaching faculty at FCC in August 2002.

He currently serves as an Elder with Poinciana Christian Church of Kissimmee, FL and has been instrumental in the founding and maintenance of the inter-cultural work at that location.

Professor Howard enjoys a variety of recreational activities including surfing, scuba diving, biking, running, and swimming. He also enjoys reading, inter and cross-cultural ministry, Spanish, and drumming.

He is married to Becki Howard. They have five children - John, Sara, Ben, Matt, and Joshua.
