David Peters
Associate Professor of Philosophy and Apologetics

David Peters is Associate Professor of Philosophy and Apologetics, and teaches classes related to those fields such as Christian Evidences, Ethics, Applied Ethics, and classes on modern and postmodern philosophy. He is a proud alumnus of the class of 1996 of Florida Christian College, having received his B.A. in Bible and Ministry, with emphases in Preaching and Counseling. He also holds an M.A. in Theology from Lincoln Christian Seminary, and graduated with his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Florida’s College of Law in 2004.

David grew up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and came to the United States in the early 1990s. In addition to the roles he has had in the various Christian Church and non-instrumental Church of Christ congregations of which he has been a member, David’s ministry, missionary and teaching experience includes serving Miami Shores Christian Church as a small groups minister, discipleship minister, and preacher; working as a member of the priesthood of all believers in settings as varied as auto parts warehouses and law firms; and teaching at Lincoln Christian College in the Interdisciplinary Studies program.

David and his wife Anastasia recently celebrated their 10th anniversary and have three children: Jedidiah, Alannah, and Josiah Ezekiel. They enjoy spending their time together in whatever kinds of activities and circumstances. They are eager supporters of the work of the International Justice Mission, a group which works to free victims of modern day slavery, and to bring persecutors and oppressors to justice. It is also rumored that David really, really likes hockey.
