Welcome

There is no more vital time for Christians to be involved in the public school arena than now. Changes in the make-up of the family and pressures from society have brought about staggering results in the elementary classroom. According to recent US Census statistics, thirty-four percent of children under the age of 21 live in single-parent families. This one event places those students at-risk for poor educational outcomes.

Additionally, the website, bullyingstatistics.org, states that in 2010, 160,000 children missed school each day of the year for fear of being bullied. Research indicates that students who are emotionally distressed are less likely to engage in learning. With so much working against them, students in public schools need caring, qualified professionals who will not only work to prepare them cognitively, but will also work to prepare them emotionally and socially for what lies ahead. If you believe God is calling you to minister to children in the public school arena, FCC is prepared to help you reach that goal.
