Because of the exciting growth we have experienced over the past few years we have a number of new positions open for talented people to help us fulfil our mission. Our mission is to is to conduct a course of study to educate men and women for Christian service, to provide a program of instruction on the college level, to grant appropriate degrees, and to serve as a resource to the churches, especially in Florida.
Staff Positions
Vice President of Finance and Institutional Advancement
Description
Florida Christian College invites application for a full-time (12-month) senior administrative position of Vice President of Finance and Institutional Advancement to begin on or before June 1, 2012. This position reports directly to the President and is a member of the Executive Council along with the Executive Vice President and the Vice President of Academics.
Responsibilities
The Vice President of Finance and Institutional Advancement reports to the President on all aspects of the financial affairs and fiscal management affairs of FCC. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing leadership to accounting, financial services, cash management, and facilities departments.
Managing financial records, preparing financial statements, external financial reporting, regulatory reporting, strategic financial planning, forecasting and budgeting, treasury management, analysis and profitability projections.
Directing the financial affairs of the organization for the guidance of the Executive Council.
Managing relations with lending institutions, vendors, and the financial community.
The Vice President of Finance and Institutional Advancement reports to the President on all fundraising and advancement efforts of FCC. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support and partner with the President and Trustees on all major fundraising initiatives.
Collaborate with the President to develop and implement FCC’s financial strategy.
Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy to include corporate, foundation, government grants, etc.
Oversee research funding sources and trends, with foresight, to help position FCC ahead of major funding changes or trends.
Monitor all donor information; provide and present statistical analysis to Trustees and Executive Council.
Develop and implement a stewardship program aimed at cultivating deeper ties with donors.
Give oversight to the estate planning program of the college.
Monitor and report regularly on the progress of the advancement program.
Identify, develop, and mentor the advancement team.
Qualifications
10-plus years of professional experience in a nonprofit organization.
Demonstrated success in managing a finance department and a keen awareness of all aspects of non-profit fund accounting.
Ability to work and understand various forms of investment opportunities.
An understanding of estate planning.
Demonstrated success in a development function (managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources).
Tangible experience of having expanded and cultivated existing donor relationships over time.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships.
Strong organizational skills.
Flexible and adaptable style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives.
Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside FCC.
Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Accounting or a related field; Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred. CPA would be highly valuable.
High energy and passion for FCC’s mission is essential.
Ability to construct, articulate, and implement annual strategic development plan.
Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A professional and resourceful style; the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.
Active member of the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ (Restoration Movement).

Full Time Faculty Position in Counseling and Psychology
Academic Management Area
Florida Christian College invites application for a full-time (12-month) faculty position in Counseling and Psychology (rank open) to begin June 1, 2011.
Responsibilities
Teach a full-time load (25 hours per year) of counseling and psychology courses in several delivery systems, including online, traditional (semester-long courses), and accelerated adult degree completion.
Advance the Counseling program by forming positive and collaborative relationships with mental health agencies and officials, supporting recruitment activities for the program, and continually enhancing curricular and assessment activities of the program.
Serve as the College’s Coordinator of Counseling Internships.
Supervise counseling internship students.
Engage in academic advisement with Counseling specialization students.
Engage in customary non-instructional activities such as representing the college in various settings, church involvement, ministry, cross-cultural missions, scholarship, professional development, and significant engagement in the lives of students.
Qualifications
Terminal degree (Ph.D., or equivalent) in a relevant area of counseling and/or psychology also required.
Master's degree in counseling and/or psychology required.
The successful candidate will have a combination of graduate credentials that qualify him or her to teach in both the counseling and psychology areas (i.e. a master’s in counseling and a Ph.D. in an area of psychology or vice versa. Alternatively, the candidate could have degrees in one of the fields and at least 18 graduate semester hours in the other field.)
Candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience at the collegiate level or above.
Significant ministry involvement is required.
Familiarity with a broad range of continuous assessment techniques; competence in the use of instructional technology in the teaching-learning process; knowledge of current best practices in teaching and internship supervision; and the ability to work well with students and colleagues.
Florida Mental Health Counseling license (or similar licensure) or the ability to obtain one through reciprocity from another state’s certificate is preferred.
Active member of the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ (Restoration Movement).
