Volume 2, Number 9

This month's Funny Story

In Greek III, Prof Mike Chambers decided it was time to have a little break and told us we could bring our lunch to class while we reviewed what we had learned to that point.  Years ago, you weren't aloud to bring any food into the classrooms, so we moved to the faculty conference room for that day.  Most of us brought a small brown bag with maybe two or three items in it.  Prof. Chambers had just started when in walked Dave Roberts with a big brown sack and an electric skillet!

He began to set up a full table setting and then plugged in the skillet and turned it on.  By this time nobody was paying any attention to Prof. Chambers and he just stopped teaching - I don't think he was as upset as he was utterly dumbfounded!  Dave continued by pulling out Tupperware containers of vegetables and a baked potato; then he pulled out a thawed steak, laid it into the skillet and the entire room was filled with loud hissing sound. The sound repeated each time he flipped the steak.

The best is yet to come.  Dave finished cooking the steak, placed it on his plate with the potato and vegetables, and then began to look around.  He reached into his sack, pulled out a candle, set it in a holder and lit the thing!!!
